| General comments: | The Taunus is a German built Ford. This car is a RARE find in the United States. This model is the 17m deLuxe. Purchased by one of our own service men stationed in Germany, new in 1960 and transported home for him in 1961, you will not see one of these very often. It is the original colors, Salmon & White, with quite a bit of chrome trim. The original wheels & covers are on the car. The interior is also original. This car has not been restored,however, it will start and run but it will need some TLC. The car has under 38,000 original miles. With a 4 cylinder engine & 3 speed (on the column) maual transmission, it is a casual driver. With the purchase of this car, you will receive the original paperwork, including service manuals, bill of sale, delivery instructions, etc. Serious inquiries only! | What memories this brings back! I am 74- this was the second car I'd owned. Cutest car at UCLA. Then my then-boyfriend fell asleep at the wheel one night and wrecked it. :-( He's no longer a boyfriend- been my "brother" for 51 years this January. LOL We've been looking at photos of the Taunus and commenting how good it still looks in 2014! Mine had an automatic clutch- a great help when going from an automatic to a manual transmission. Mine was blue and white. |
